The excitement before the arrival of a bundle of joy is incomparable. It often happens that whatever we wait for takes longer to come, it also happens during pregnancy. Most of the pregnant women experience ‘’false labor” during the third trimester of their gestation period. Braxton Hicks contractions are a condition where expectant mothers experience intermittent contractions or cramps in the uterus. They usually last for not more than half a minute and are milder than the ‘actual labor’.
What triggers false labor?
Braxton-Hicks contractions, practice contractions or false labor is a normal condition during pregnancy. It is usually endured by the to-be mothers during the second and third trimester. Its frequency and duration intensify as they draw close to the delivery.

A pregnant lady may experience tightening in the abdomen due to a distended urinary bladder. It is not healthy for a pregnant woman to control the urge to urinate.
A mother-to-be does not usually experience pain due to Braxton Hicks Contractions. She may get bothered by the discomfort and anxiousness it brings along which makes its treatment necessary. One should consider the following tips during practice contractions:
Take a half-hour warm bath
A warm bath can alleviate pain and help calm the cramps.
One should do breathing exercises to distract from false labor.
Drink water or grab a snack
It is important to drink sufficient water and to keep taking snacks at regular intervals to avoid the bothersome spasms.
While experiencing abdominal tightening one should try changing positions. Take a walk or sit in the air to alleviate pain.
Take a pee
One should drink 10 cups of water and urinate at regular intervals
