Other reasons why you may be suffering from Pregnancy Insomnia could be because of stress. You may be nervous and feel anxious about labor and delivery and about the birth of the baby. You may worry about how you would be managing your work and life after being a mother. These thoughts can disturb your sleep.
Nothing can be done to get rid of these thoughts but try to keep worried aside as much as possible. Write down all the problems that you have and talk it out with your partner. This can help you to feel much better.
Have a constant routine
Try to have a consistent bedtime routine. This could train your mind to sleep. It is also soothing and gives your body cues that it is time to go to bed.
Pregnancy insomnia that affects the pregnant women in the first trimester generally passes away. However, if you still feel trouble in getting sleep then try to take short naps in the day. Do not consume any medicines to induce sleep or take any herbs until you consult your doctor. If insomnia is affecting your day to day functioning then you should consult your doctor who would prescribe sedatives that are safe to take in pregnancy.
